Miss Rodeo Arkansas Princess is a young lady between the ages of 7 and 10 who strives to promote the state of Arkansas and the sport of professional rodeo, and in so doing, promote the great western way of life. Miss Rodeo Arkansas Princess will be an outgoing, good horsewoman with a good knowledge of rodeo, horses, and the state of Arkansas. The Miss Rodeo Arkansas Princess contestants will be judged in photogenics, appearance, personality, modeling, interview and horsemanship. The horsemanship competition will consist of a simple pattern. The contestants may walk, trot, lope or do a combination of these three depending on their comfort level. They will not have to execute a queen's run. They will be judged on how well they sit their horse and control the horse. Contestants must wear Wrangler jeans for horsemanship along with a fitted shirt. No chaps, vests, or jackets are allowed. The contestants will model a western outfit of their choosing during the fashion show and will be asked to introduce themselves while on stage. The interview portion of the competition will consist of a short, private interview with the judges. The contestants should expect to answer questions about rodeo, horses/horsemanship and information from her entry form. Contestants may wear a western outfit of their choice. The appearance and personality categories will be judged throughout each phase of competition. Each contestant needs to submit one 8x10 color photograph and two 5x7 black and white photographs along with their entry form. The 8x10 will be used for judging the photogenic competition. The 5x7 photographs will be used for advertisement purposes. These photographs should be of the contestant in western attire. Photos will become the property of Miss Rodeo Arkansas, Inc. You can print out an entry form online or have one mailed to you. Entry fee is $50. If you have any questions regarding the pageant or would like an entry form mailed to you, please contact the National Director for Arkansas Debbie Foot. |
